The 2010 England CSA season saw England retain their CSA World Cup title.

Background

edit

England came into the 2010 World Cup as favourites after their stunning performances in the EliteLeague - a round-robin competitions where eight countries (England, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Argentina and Brazil) play each other once over a year (they didn't have to qualify as an EliteLeague member and defending champions), where they won six and drew one, thus winning the EliteLeague.

Season summary

edit

England had a fantastic 2010 season, headlined by cementing their place as the world's best team by winning their second CSA World Cup in a row held in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. Newcomers like Ryan Welch and Garry Stratford made huge impact in their first full year as England internationals, and had made a significant contribution to England's 10-0 hammering of San Marino in the opening qualifier for EuroCup 12. England followed this up with qualifying wins over Wales (3-1), Austria (2-0) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (3-1), before concluding their 2010 season with a 3-1 friendly win at home to Denmark.
