Tomoko Kuroki is the protagonist of the manga No Matter How I Look at It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular!, commonly referred to as WataMote.

A figurine based on Tomoko was released as part of Good Smile's Nendoroid line of figurines.[1]

Michael Toole of Anime News Network discussed Tomoko as she compares to the protagonist of Flowers of Evil, Takao Kasuga. He argued that while viewers were expected to "empathize" or "pity" Kasuga, the same is not true for Tomoko, whose behavior related to her social anxiety he described as "spiteful" and, in turn, "unsympathetic." He felt that she was "oddly endearing" however, and discussed how her behavior can sometimes feel relatable.[2]
