Article Evaluation- Plato's Allegory of the Cave

• Is everything in the article relevant to the article topic? Is there anything that distracted you?

There were no distractions while reading the article, to me everything in the article was relevant to the topic.

• Is the article neutral? Are there any claims, or frames, that appear heavily biased toward a particular position?

This article type is more of a summary, so it seems to leave less room for any bias. I noticed no bias.

• Are there viewpoints that are overrepresented, or underrepresented?

The contributor seemed seemed to do a good job explaining the parts of the Allegory in an even way.

• Check a few citations. Do the links work? Does the source support the claims in the article?

Because this is an overview of something that is in a book, there are only a few citations with links. The is one with a link that doesn't work. Collectively, the sources support claims made in the article.

• Is each fact referenced with an appropriate, reliable reference? Where does the information come from? Are these neutral sources? If biased, is that bias noted?

There are some spots in the text that need some referencing, it seems as though someone else has already noted it. The references that are used seem to be from materials such as The Republic itself, and from books that break down this story into theories or different interpretations.

• Is any information out of date? Is anything missing that could be added?

My knowledge on this topic is limited. From what I know, and from what I've read, things seem to line up with no out of date information.

It was a surprise to me at how much is going on- on the talk page. Conversations include editing suggestions, alternative interpretations, and even a little bit of smack talk (nervous face)**.

This article is a part of WIkiProjects for Philosophy, Greece, and Cognitive science. This was reated Star-class, High and mid- importance.

• How does the way Wikipedia discusses this topic differ from the way we've talked about it in class?

Because this is an interpretation, it differs from person to person. Parts of the interpretation is similar to the video we watched, but there are also some parts that differ. Things like the order of the story and small details of the story.
