Devil May Cry Style System styles

[Unfinished. Soon to be finished]

Trickster

edit

Trickster is one of seven styles used by Dante in the Devil May Cry series. The style system was first introduced in Devil May Cry 3, with this being one of the first 4 used. It uses speed, agility and deception to dodge enemies' attacks. This style is mainly defensive, alongside Royal Guard and contrary to Swordmaster and Gunslinger.

Abilities

edit
  • Dash - Shoot yourself forward, getting yourself out of danger or towards an enemy to continue a combo. Devil May Cry 3 includes two variants of this, the Double and Triple Dash, while 4 does not.
  • Wall Hike - Run up or along a wall to escape the enemies' onslaught of attacks. This move can often be confused with a move with the same name used in both the first and second games to refer to the wall jump. This was introduced in Devil May Cry 2 (though without this name) and is not included in Devil May Cry 4.
  • Sky Star - Sky Star launches the player forward in mid-air in a similar way to Dash, and seems to use the same concentrated magic energy as Air Hike.
  • Air Trick - This is used by Dante and also Vergil in his Dark Slayer style. The user disappears and then reappears above an enemy, allowing the possibility of a counter-attack.
  • Mustang - Introduced into the fourth game, this allows Dante to step over an enemy after a Dash.
  • Flipper - Another ability in Devil May Cry 4, this flips Dante back onto his feet quickly after being knocked down.
