Analysis of Article

The introduction could talk more about being a CRNA and what it means. Instead the introduction tells you who gives you the different certificates qualified to be a CRNA. That information should be inserted under the category of Certification. The Education Pathway doesn't include the criteria or classed needed to take in order to fulfil this degree. The history could have been boarder, by stating when the first successful practice occurred. Along with the experiments and trials in order to the new technology and ways that we now have.

I'm going to focus on the history prior to today about being a CRNA, along with its total definition in depth. I will also include the experiments and trials through the years that taught the CRNA's everything that is now known.

An CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) is briefly defined as, a registered nurse with education of nursing but also with education in the administrations of anesthetics. General anesthetics are drugs used to make a patient unconscious to the awareness of pain. (http://kana.org/Information/CRNAPractice/) This of course became useful in the years created because it made surgeries run more smoothly, it also helped patients after surgery during their healing process. The first anesthetists nurse trial was in Erie, Pennsylvania in the year of 1887. The patient was nursed by Sister Mary Bernard who was employed at Vincent's Hospital.

The first professional group in the anesthetists field were nurses. This originated during wars and for Allied Forces, nurses worked to make sure their surgeries went well and they woke up properly. It was Agatha Hodgins who taught them and also went to France and England to teach the ways in handling nitrous oxide-oxygen anesthesia. (http://www.aana.com/ceandeducation/students/Documents/history-nap-student.pdf) Along with teaching across the world, Agatha soon created her own school for nurses. As the nurses completed school and graduated, the graduates began to spread all over the world. This was the start of the first group of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
