In the aftermath of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida, on February 14, 2018, several students who survived the shooting became activists against gun violence, staging organized protests and forming student-led groups to address the issues surrounding gun politics in the United States. Never Again MSD, student-led political action committee for gun control, was formed by several of the student survivors. The activist have been influential in gun politics and were on the cover of Time and were on the shortlist for Time's Person of the Year at number four.
