The Wellington Young Feminists' Collective The Wellington Young Feminists' Collective (WYFC) is a community organisation based in Wellington, New Zealand for self-identified feminists and people interested in supporting gender equity. The WYFC facilitates three main activities: socialising, learning and activism.

Background The WYFC was founded in October 2010 by Nicole Skews, in order to help promote feminism in Wellington, and to enable people interested in feminism to meet each other and share information on relevant issues. Originally started as a Facebook group, the Collective swiftly started gathering members and branching out into fundraising and social events.

Activities and membership People of any age, gender identity, ethnicity, sexuality, class or religion are welcome to become members of the WYFC, facilitated through 'liking' the Facebook page. The sole requirement is that members are genuinely supportive of feminism. The current membership tally is over 800.

The WYFC has held fundraisers for local and national women's organisations in New Zealand, as well as social events such as their launch party and public planning meetings. The group is also launching a Wellington chapter of international anti-street harassment organisation Hollaback!.

Decision-making The group currently uses an 'admin structure' similar to a governance board to make decisions
