My name is Colin Beckingham. I have been a Wikipedia user for some years but until April, 2012 had made no contributions. I live in the South Frontenac region of Ontario, Canada. I have an M.A. degree in economics from Queen's in Kingston, Ontario, a B.A. in Latin American Studies from Windsor, Ontario, and the Ontario Diploma in Horticulture from the University of Guelph.
My interests are:
- Open source software,
- The Linux operating system,
- Voice recognition in the Linux/Open Source arena,
- Country living,
- Gardening and horticulture.
My goals are to contribute to articles relating to:
- open source software, and
- horticulture.
In the interests of open disclosure to the community, I have published a few articles related to open source and voice recognition in online publications such as IBM developerworks, Wazi, Linux.com and others. I am not employed in the computer science field or horticulture any more, I keep up the interest in my semi-retirement.
