I am a medical doctor living in New York City. A graduate of The Johns Hopkins University and of the University of Florida College of Medicine, I am a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. I studied tropical medicine in Panama and public health in Greece, and practiced medicine in Illinois, Georgia, and Bhutan before becoming a pharmaceutical researcher at Pfizer. I am a charter member of Physicians for Social Responsibility and International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, which was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1985.

Other interests include cooking, gardening, photography, acting, and modeling. I have appeared in music videos, student projects and feature films. My portraits have won awards from the London Photographic Association and a silver medal from the Prix de la Photographie, Paris.
