Sickle Cell 101 is a non-profit organization founded in 2013 by Cassandra Trimnell that is a trusted source of information on sickle cell anemia. It focuses specifically on people affected by sickle cell disease. To this end, Sickle Cell 101 operates the Sicklepedia platform, which is the largest and most comprehensive digital platform for the spread of sickle cell disease, sharing real-time insights and patient experience data.

The founder and CEO of Sickle Cell 101 suffers from sickle cell disease herself and found little information about her disease when she was young. For this reason, she has made it her mission to collect information, educate and make this available free of charge and founded Sickle Cell 101 in 2013.

Sickle Cell 101 claims to be by far the largest source of information about sickle cell disease, with more than 3 million users from 150 countries.
