Chris S. Geiger is a retired captain from Clackamas County Fire District No.1 in Portland, Oregon. He was a career firefighter/paramedic from 1985 to 2016. He worked as both engine and truck company captain, and as the District’s EMS Officer. He served on the technical rescue task force for the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training, was a member of the Oregon State Urban Search & Rescue Team (OR-TF1) and worked as a helicopter flight paramedic. He teaches as senior instructor at the Metro Fire Officers Academy and has lectured at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

Chris is a 2008 graduate of the U.S. Fire Administration’s Executive Fire Officer Program. He has a Master’s degree in public administration, a Bachelor’s degree in fire administration, and an Associate’s degree in fire science. He teaches classes on Wind-Driven Structure Fires, Dying and Death Issues for First Responders, Incident Command, and Fire Rescue Law. He lives with his wife on Whidbey Island in Puget Sound.
