"Roly-Poly" is a retro-styleddance pop song by South Korean girl group T-ara. It was taken from their second mini albumJohn Travolta Wannabe, released on June 29, 2011. The song was written and produced by Shinsadong Tiger and Choi Gyu Sung, who were also behind the group's hit song "Bo Peep Bo Peep". "Roly-Poly" won three weekly #1 awards on Mnet's M! Countdown and SBS's Inkigayo, and went on to becoming the top grossing and most downloaded song of 2011 with a record $2 million in sales and over 4 million downloads. The song will be re-released in Japanese on February 29, 2012 as the group's third single.
Eoljjang (Korean: "얼짱"), also spelled as ulzzang or uljjang (Korean pronunciation:[ʌl.tɕ͈äŋ]), is a popular South Korean term literally meaning "best face" or "good-looking". Originally used as a slang term, this word in the English lexicon has evolved into describing a person that follows specific style of fashion. Wannabes desiring eoljjang status enter contests where their photos are judged and chosen by voters, though many become well-known eoljjangs from having popular Cyworld accounts or gaining popularity in school for being attractive.
Many eoljjangs model for popular Korean fashion websites, and some have entered the Korean entertainment business and have since risen to stardom.
Although the word originated in South Korea, followers of such trends could be seen in China and Japan, but can also be found in Taiwan, the United States, Canada, and Europe.[1]

Etymology
The word "eoljjang", literally "best face", is derived from the words eolgul (Korean: "얼굴") meaning "face"; and jjang (Korean: "짱") a slang term meaning "best".
Characteristics
Most eoljjangs share similar features. They usually have large eyes (being the main focus), fair skin, small noses and thin lips. Among some of the most popular plastic surgeries many under go would be East Asian blepharoplasty (also known "double eyelid surgery"). Popular cosmetics used by eoljjangs range from eyelid glue or tape along with circle lenses to achieve the appearance of more larger and "doll-like" eyes, false eyelashes, eyeliner and BB cream.
There are a few style trends that are followed, either imitating fashion from Korean or Japanese magazines.[2][3]
