Explain this to me, if you could. Call me skeptical but I don't get it. Your most recent contributions have you continuing the argument on WP:AN3 (where there was certainly no agreement). There were no edits on the talk page in the meantime. I don't see how you solved anything. In fact, you had a note about your tone from a second editor at WP:WQA. The original sentence was reworded (and accepted by the other editors)...... --TIAYN (talk) 14:01, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
An IP has vandalised the Alexei Kosygin page, could someone fix this? --TIAYN (talk) 14:13, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Alexf has actioned that req. Chaosdruid (talk) 22:13, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Nope, the article still says he was born on 20 February, he was born on 21 February....... So no, you havn't fixed shit, I could have fixed shit, but fuck it.... If wiki wants to screw itself over, fine... --TIAYN (talk) 23:45, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
That really was not necessary, was it? You asked for the page to be "fixed" after IP "vandalism", you did not point out that the IP editor had "corrected" the DOB to 21 Feb, did you? You actually requested that someone revert to prior to the IP edit, which they did, giving the 20 Feb.
The Encyclopaedia Britannica says DOB is 20 Feb 1904 btw. Chaosdruid (talk) 00:42, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
Well, all other sources gives his birth date as 21 february so Britannica Encycloapedia (BE) is WRONG.. Search the internet, his birth date in 21 February. Even the Russian encyclopaedia says he was born on 21 February. BE is wrong on this one, just search around. --TIAYN (talk) 06:37, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
Search google books, no book says he was born on the 20 February you. --TIAYN (talk) 06:42, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
That comment was entirely unacceptable. I will give you three options after making that comment:
Strike it out and/or delete it then apologize to Chaosdruid.
Have your block reset for an additional 48 hours.
Have your talk page access revoked and have your block reset for an additional 48 hours.
Please choose wisely, so I don't have to choose for you. Yes, it is a threat ,and it's not nice, but your comment was totally uncalled for, and my response is solely to that. Magog the Ogre (talk) 06:48, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
Sorry that I acted like an asshole Chaosdruid --TIAYN (talk) 06:51, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
Its ok, I was more surprised than hurt. I have collaborated with you and found you reasonable, so no harm done - apology accepted :¬) Chaosdruid (talk) 06:55, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
I find you reasonable to, by all means, more reasonable then me...... I just don't understand why I get a 48 hours block while the other two get 24 hours, and the third gets none... By all means, why is it so, why have I been single out? And again, sorry, by all means, you're one of the better wp users I've met, and by all means, you are better than me; you are able to work in a colleagual environment, I'm not. sorry --TIAYN (talk) 06:59, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
Two reasons: because this was your third block so you should know better by now, and because you made 7 reverts, which is almost breaking 3RR twice. The IP made 4 (which is beyond the bright red line, enough for 24h), and the user made 3 IIRC (which is not beyond the red line). I note they did not share an IP address, because there was no autoblock placed on the user. Magog the Ogre (talk) 08:10, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, TIAYN, that was truly quite awesome of you. And sorry I had to speak so harshly! In any case, you might like to read Wikipedia:No angry mastodons. It's only a matter of sheer luck and self-control that I haven't been ruder at some point to some editors, because I have a ridiculously short temper. Magog the Ogre (talk) 06:57, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
