The in the State of Minnesota intercity and regional passenger train service is provided by Amtrak. Currently, Amtrak only operates one long-distance train through the state, the Empire Builder, between Chicago, Illinois and Seattle, Washington/Portland, Oregon. The Amtrak serves station-stops at 6 stations in the state of Minnesota, as well as 4 Thruway Motorcoach stops.
