Life as a Nobody College Kid

edit

I'm Catherine Garrett, which as I well know, means absolutely nothing to you. To better clarify, I am currently a freshman at Georgia Southern University studying to be a nurse. I am tall, loud, clumsy, and I try pretty hard to come off as funny. I am a complete animal love and was a vegetarian for a while until I started attending Georgia Southern. Eating on meal plan made a vegetarian lifestyle pretty challenging unless you can handle a full diet of bread and pasta. I find myself to be an expert in the following categories: falling in hysterical ways, laughing obnoxiously, lip-syncing with full choreography, my smartphone, and of course, Facebook.

Philosophy-er...

edit

I find it funny I'm actually typing about "my philosophy" right now..Especially since I am having quite a lot of trouble even SPELLING philosopher. My friends would have a laughing fit. Anyways, back to the point. My philosophy has always been the Golden Rule. To treat others how you would like to be treated. This boring and extremely cliche philosophy drives a lot of my motives. It was one of my main driving forced that led me into vegetarianism. Sorry I talk about being an ex-vegetarian so often, I miss it a lot and can't wait to get back to it. This philosophy also led me to chose the career path of nursing. I'm all about helping others, especially those who are in extremely vulnerable places.

Now for my actual Wikipedia Philosophy.Throughout all of high school, I have always learned NOT to use Wikipedia in my papers. All of my teachers had very little or no reasons why, so I never really questioned it (being the philosopher that I am...) In the past I only used Wikipedia to search random things, or to look up some background on a subject I had to write a paper on before I did my actual research. It wasn't until I came to college that I learned that Wikipedia was much more than people randomly writing things on a page, like my high school teachers made it seem. I learned the hard way that it takes A LOT to write a Wikipedia page. If you don't have a ton of reliable sources or your article violates one of the many copy right laws, it will be deleted immidiately by what seems to be.. Well, put as nicely as I can.. Wikipedia Nazis! (Sorry, still a little bitter). After learning all this about Wikipedia, I definitely think that Wikipedia should be more widely accepted.

Wikipedia Works

edit

This is kind of a sore subject for me right now and I find it kind of soon to talk about, so bare with me. My one and only article I have ever written has... Yes, you guessed it, passed away. It was deleted almost immediately. I guess that is what I guess for being somewhat of a smart ass and putting it up instead of putting it on a test page first, like my professor asked. Who knew there were so many rules and regulations for Wikipedia? Oh, everyone but me? Probably. I am going to try to either fix the problem of the deletion and rewrite my topic on Jamie Hood, or I am going to write a whole other article. Whether I keep going with this whole Wikipedia thing is depending on my frustration level writing my next article..

Another article I wrote on wikipedia is Something Like Fate. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Something_like_fate

It's Complicated with Technology

edit

If my relationship status with technology was "Facebook Official" it would be It's Complicated. I have a love-hate relationship. I love twitter, facebook, and my smart phone. However, AS SOON as something goes wrong with one of those things, such as Facebook changing for the 129349384th time, I will NOT have anything to do with it for a while. I also find myself to be somewhere competent in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and some simple HTML coding, but that is about as far as it goes.
