Hello, welcome to your New Page Patrol School page! Every person I instruct will have their own page on which I will give them support and tasks for them to complete. Please make sure you have this page added to your watchlist. Your NPP School page has been specifically designed according to you and what you have requested instruction in - for that reason, please be as specific as possible when under my instruction, so that I know the best ways to help you (and do not be afraid to let me know if you think something isn't working).

Make sure you read through Wikipedia:Notability as that's the knowledge which most of the questions I ask you and tasks you do will revolve around.

How to use this page

This page will be built up over your time in the Academy, with new sections being added as you complete old ones. Each section will end with a task, written in bold type - this might just ask a question, or it might require you to go and do something. You can answer a question by typing the answer below the task; if you have to do something, you will need to provide diffs to demonstrate that you have completed the task. Some sections will have more than one task, sometimes additional tasks may be added to a section as you complete them. Please always sign your responses to tasks as you would on a talk page.

If both the instructor and student make completing the course curriculum a top priority, it will generally take around a month to go through the entirety of the curriculum. This pace is not required or necessarily expected, but rather is provided in order to give participants an idea of what to expect.

Notability edit

PART 1

When patrolling or reviewing an article, you may often come across articles do not meet the WP:N guidelines, but the editors make the edits in good faith. Please read WP:AGF and do not WP:BITE the new editors.

A. Notability is a test guidelines to decide whether a given topic warrants its own article in Wikipedia mainspace. Please read Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, General Notability Guidelines, Specific Notability Guidelines, Stand-alone list before completing the following tasks.

General notability guidelines edit

1. In your own words, why it is important to WP:AGF and not WP:BITE new editors.

Answer: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia whose community has build an extensive set of rules and guidelines in its many years of existence. Newcomers are most likely not aware of those rules but they still want to help out (except in some blatant cases of vandalism). A big chunk of edits on Wikipedia comes from newcomers and a newbie can always become an expert editor, if they are given the chance to do so. Using aggressive messages or technical wiki jargon on talk pages might put them off and they might decide not to contribute any further. The encyclopedia thrives on a constant influx of new editors, so we shouldn't scare them away. Even experience editors can make mistakes sometimes, and that's why assuming good faith is one key principle.

Y Also, It is will avoid loss to the Wikipedia community as the editors could have been a great editors. Cassiopeia talk 23:16, 8 February 2024 (UTC)

2. In your own words, how is notability defined in Wikipedia?

Answer: A notable topic has been covered by multiple reliable independent secondary sources. That means sources that are:

  • are independent of the subject (press releases, paid articles, interviews are not)
  • are reliable (provide factually accurate information, even if biased. A list of sources on which consensus on their reliability was reached is at WP:RSP)
  • provide in-depth coverage (a one-line mention of the subject in a long NYT article about a different subject is not sufficient to establish notability, even if the source is reliable and independent)

Even if all requirements are not met, the page might still not fit on Wikipedia because of WP:NOT.

Y Very good. In Wikipedia, notability means "worthy to be noted" - it is defined as a topic is "presumably" notable for stand-alone article or list if (1) it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject whee by the sources talk "directly" about the subject in depth and in length and not only passing mentioned and (2) it is not excluded under the What WP:Wikipedia is not policy. Cassiopeia talk 23:16, 8 February 2024 (UTC)

3. Does a step by step instructions on how to "Change a car tire" considered a notable topic in Wikipedia?

Answer: It is not, per WP:NOTGUIDE.

 Y. Right as Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a how to manual site. Cassiopeia talk 23:16, 8 February 2024 (UTC)

4. What are the differences between A WP:GNG and a specific notability guidelines? how do we determine which one to use when patrolling an article?

Answer: WP:GNG is the general criterion that always applies. Specific notability guidelines help us determine in an easier way which topics can and which shouldn't have a page on Wikipedia. Specific notability guidelines are generally easier to verify than the GNG. If an SNG criterion is verified, one can usually assume that WP:SIGCOV exists and therefore the GNG requirement is satisfied.

 Y. Both can be used when patrolling but those subject falls under SNG/SSG (sport specific guidelines) but fails to meet the WP:GNG guidelines would sometimes nominated for deletioavis WP:AfD to determine the status of the article. (We will cover AfD in later assignment). Cassiopeia talk 23:16, 8 February 2024 (UTC)

Specific notability guidelines edit

5. If an editor creates an article about "2028 Summer Olympics" in 2024 without providing any sources, is the subject considered not notable and why?

Answer: Generally for future events for which only speculative information is available, WP:CRYSTALBALL applies. However, 4 years before the Olympic games there is usually sufficient information on the future event to justify its notability. The fact the article does not have any sources does not have any impact on its notability, per WP:NEXIST.

 Y. Cassiopeia talk 23:16, 8 February 2024 (UTC)

B. Without considered of sources/content policies and review just based on "subject specific notability" (SSN) "alone" for sake of the exercises below, please answer if the subject meets the SSN guidelines, based on the given content below, and specify under (1) which notability criteria they meet or fail (example - MUSICBI#1 if certain sub set of criteria is applicable) and (2) reasons/explanations.

6. A New York city based 2023 start up software company , specializing in data mining, has just received a USD 200K investor fund.

Answer: It's trivial coverage per WP:ORGTRIV: "standard notices, brief announcements, and routine coverage, such as [...] of a capital transaction, such as raised capital"

Does the subject meet SSN?

Answer again:

Notability is not shown as there is only trivial coverage of the company. Broc (talk) 07:13, 9 February 2024 (UTC)

Y To pass WP:NPOL, once needs to be officially elected to state/national position and thus subject is notable one they are elected even yet to assume office. Cassiopeia talk 23:16, 8 February 2024 (UTC)

10. A singer who self produced his first album in May 2023 and his songs are listed in Spotify.

 Y. Cassiopeia talk 23:16, 8 February 2024 (UTC)

C. Based on which SSN guidelines the below subjects are notable under (1) which notability criteriaMUSICBI#1 (if certain sub set of criteria is applicable) and (2) reasons/explanations

11. Carlos Alós-Ferrer

Answer: Per WP:NACADEMICS#8, as he is "he is the editor in chief of the Journal of Economic Psychology". Given the journal only has an impact factor of 3.5, one might wonder if it constitutes a "major well-established journal". In my opinion it's a bit of a grey zone...

 Y. The subject meets criteria 1 for WP:NPROF #1 [1] for being highly cited and #8 as the chief editor of Journal of Economic Psychology

Hi @Cassiopeia: that was a very interesting assignment! Thanks for setting it up. I have now completed it :) I'm looking forward to seeing your corrections and especially hearing your opinion on question 11. --Broc (talk) 16:52, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
@Cassiopeia: a gentle ping in case you missed the first one ;) If you're busy, no pressure. --Broc (talk) 16:17, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
Broc, Sorry for the delay. Pls answer Q6 - if the subject meet the specific SSN. Let me know if you have any question or you are ready to move to next assignment. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia talk 23:16, 8 February 2024 (UTC)
Cassiopeia thanks! I answered Q6 and I'm ready to move on to the next assignment. I have a question regarding WP:NACADEMICS as criterion #1 gets often invoked and sparks discussion in AfD. How is "highly cited" defined? If you're not an expert in this specific guideline, do you know where I can ask? Thanks a bunch, Broc (talk) 07:13, 9 February 2024 (UTC)
Broc, Reviewed Q6.
In Wikipedia, I am not aware a definition of what is considered highly cited for academics in Wikipedia. But in normal cases, we would take the Googgle scholar H-Index as the guide. There are many standard of H-Index which is considered "good" for a full professional ranging from 20-30 (H-Index) - (example: for Carlos Alós-Ferrer has 37 H-index this means that this author has published "at least" 37 papers that have each received "at least" 37 citations.)
My take is that if a academic have 20 H-Index in Googgle scholar that should considered good. However, to say that, this is not the guidelines of Wikipedia but normally we the editor would agree as the norm, just like if a train station has only one source, even it is a directory source, government or the train station/transportation web site, we would take it the train station article notable as this is the historical norm in Wikipedia even it does not meet the WP:GNG criteria. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia talk 07:43, 9 February 2024 (UTC)
Broc, Please do NOT create a sub page under my username or change the format of the program (You didnt on the later, but just to inform you). You can easily navigated the assignment when clicking the 3 "dot-bar" next to the page name "User:Cassiopeia/NPPSchool/Broc" at the top of the page where all the sub section(s) of this program are listed, and you can click on the "listed topic" and it will bring you there. Cassiopeia talk 22:34, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
Cassiopeia Understood. I am struggling with the large amount of wikitext, which makes my computer slow down when I open the editor. I'll see if I can work around it with section editing.
Anyway, I finished the second assignment, see below. Broc (talk) 06:34, 13 February 2024 (UTC)

Sources edit

Background for trainees edit

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia for such content claimed should be supported by independent (secondary), reliable sources for verification. Please read WP:RS, WP:IS, WP:RSP, WP:V, WP:PROVEIT, WP:Primary, WP:Secondary, and WP:Tertiary. 4. Please explain in your own words why the content claimed needs to be verified?

Answer: Verifiability is one core principle of Wikipedia. It is critical that the information in an encyclopedia is factually correct; to achieve this, statements need to be verifiable. The use on in-line citations in particular makes it very easy for a future editor that wants to improve or expand the article to verify the origin of the statement. Broc (talk) 21:30, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

 Y. Cassiopeia talk 03:50, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

5.Could we used Wikipedia as the source? and why?

Answer: No, see WP:CIRCULAR. Wikipedia is not a reliable source as it contains user-generated content with no editorial oversight. However, sources that are used in other pages can be re-used upon verification. Broc (talk) 17:04, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

 Y. Cassiopeia talk 03:50, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

6.Give an example and explain why a source is reliable but not independent of a subject?

Answer: A press release from a company is an example of primary source that is not independent of the subject. However, we can consider it as reliable for information such as address, earnings, number of employees, ... Broc (talk) 17:04, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

N Not considered reliable as company could make up the info or # employees, earnings and etc because there is no fact checking taking place (all companies from the websites are considered not independent and not reliable)
Answer again:
In a page about a novel, the novel itself can be used as a reliable source for the plot summary and publishing information. Given it is not an independent source, it cannot be used to establish notability. Broc (talk) 06:44, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
 N. Novel is fiction and not a reliable source as the info is written by the author who is considered not a reliable because he write novel. Example would be any sources that is not reliable such as Discogs, The Electronic Intifada, Find a Grave, Goodreads, Daily Star (United Kingdom), New York Post and etc. where by the articles talk about subjects which have no affiliations/connections with the sources/authors same as a blog I write on my website talking about Barack Obama would not independent but not reliable source. Cassiopeia talk 07:01, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

7.Give an example and explain why a source is independent source but not reliable?

Answer: I write on my personal blog about a subject with whom I have no conflict of interest. Being it a self-published source, it is not reliable, although independent. Broc (talk) 17:04, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

Fallingwater, Mill Run, Pennsylvania (1937)

Frank Lloyd Wright (June 8, 1867 – April 9, 1959) was an American architect, interior designer, writer, and educator. Wright believed in designing structures that were in harmony with humanity and its environment, a philosophy he called organic architecture. His creative period spanned more than 70 years. He works includes The Guggenheim, swirling, snail-shaped museum in the middle of Manhattan.[1][2] Fallingwater, which has been called "the best all-time work of American architecture."[3] This is one of Wright's most famous private residences (completed 1937), was built for Mr. and Mrs. Edgar J. Kaufmann, Sr., at Mill Run, Pennsylvania. Constructed over a 30-foot waterfall, it was designed according to Wright's desire to place the occupants close to the natural surroundings. The house was intended to be more of a family getaway, rather than a live-in home.[4]

Answer: She is a boxer who turned Pro at the age of 19 after winning one amateur fight on December 14, 2013 where she defeated her opponent in 20 seconds. She fought under XXX promotion on her next fight on February 2014.

Answer: He is a Bulgarian actor, born in Veliko Tarnovo. He started working in the film industry at the age of 14 and he was featured in 44 films.

11. Please read WP:DUE and in your own words, please explain why it is important to provide balance and due weight content in an article.

Answer: The [[WP:NPOV]] [WP:DUE]] pillar means that all points of view should be represented, according to the weight they have. So for instance, conspiracy theories should be listed on a page about the Moon landing, but should not constitute the majority of the page, as they are fringe views. Giving undue weight means exaggerating the importance of one of the points of view and giving much less space to the others. This does not only have to do with text length but also with its placement in the page, the section naming, etc. Broc (talk) 14:40, 26 February 2024 (UTC)

 Y I believe you meant WP:DUE and Not WP:NPOV. Cassiopeia talk 09:11, 27 February 2024 (UTC)

No original research edit

Please read WP:OR and WP:NOT and answer the questions below
12. In your own words, why Wikipedia is not a platform to publish original research?

Answer: We are writing an encyclopedia, not a research article or a piece of investigative journalism. We should rely exclusively on what reliable published sources have covered about the subject, without reaching conclusions that are not supported by sources. Broc (talk) 17:14, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

 Y. original research is also considered NOT independent source which is the same as company website, social media sites, official subject site and etc. Cassiopeia talk 23:54, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

13. In your own words, please provide one example with explanation when it is appropriate to insert an original research or an opinion in an article.

Answer: It is never appropriate to insert original research unless it is reported as a quoted statement, explicitly mentioning that it is the point of view of one individual.

Moreover, some specific types of material, such as mathematical calculations, translations, and map readings, are not considered original research if inserted in an article. Broc (talk) 08:14, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

 Y. We could use exact words from the source in the article when (1) it is a public domain sites (2) the author/site has released their copyright and anyone to use the content/image such as " agree to irrevocably agree to release content/image under the CC BY-SA 3.0 License and the GFDL or under the Creative Commons license. Verifiability edit

Please read WP:V and answer the questions below
15. If the subject has two sons and it is supported by three independent, reliable sources but in reality he has 3 sons. Could we change the content from "2" sons to "3 sons"? and why?

Answer:

No, all content must be verifiable. We are not looking for "the truth", we are just collecting information that has been published on reliable sources. If contradicting sources are found, one saying "2" and one saying "3", both should be mentioned on the page. If no source is found to support the "3 sons" fact, it should not be added. Broc (talk) 17:33, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

Y if there is more than a reliable sources indicated the same info or the other reliable source is more recent than the one one (2 sons) more than one year, normally we would take 3 sons instead of 2 sons. Cassiopeia talk 23:54, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

Filtering - Criteria for speedy deletion edit

PART 2

We have looked at the requirements needed for a page to meet notable, policy and type of sources to merit a page in Wikipedia in Part 1 (Assignment 1, 2 & 3). In assignment 4, we look at what type of articles need to be filtered out from our system when reviewing a page. There are many criteria of WP:Criteria for speedy deletion. Here we discuss (1) General criteria (G1-G14), (2) Article criteria (A1-A11) and R2.
Please do the following
  1. Pls set up your CSD log by installing MYCSD so I could review your CSD nomination. After saving, you have to bypass your browser's cache to see the changes - see instruction at Wikipedia:Bypass your cache.
  2. Bookmark Earwig's Copyvio Detector in computer; and install Earwig Copyvio Detector script. (The "copyvio" will appear on the left panel under "Tools" section on every page in Wikipedia.
  3. Install CV-revdel and after saving, you have to bypass your browser's cache to see the changes - see instruction at Wikipedia:Bypass your cache.

Pls read WP:COPYVIO, WP:REVDEL, WP:COPYPASTE, WP:DCM and WP:G12 and answer the questions below.
3. When do we nominated a page for WP:G12 and when do we WP:REVDEL the COPYVIO text?

Answer:G12 when the page is almost entirely copied from somewhere else and there is no original content at all. Revdel is for all other cases: if a paragraph is copied from somewhere else, we remove or rewrite said paragraph, then request revision deletion for all revisions that included the copyvio. Note: this can also be the whole page history except the last edit. Another example is a recent addition of a large chunk of copyrighted text: the solution is to revert to a previous state without copyvio, then request revdel. Broc (talk) 15:05, 27 February 2024 (UTC)

 Y. Cassiopeia talk 03:59, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

4. What constitute copyright infringement/violation.

Answer: Copying copyrighted content, but also close paraphrasing, and a direct translation of copyrighted material. Broc (talk) 15:05, 27 February 2024 (UTC)

 Y. Cassiopeia talk 03:59, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

5. Why some of the texts found in an article are identical as per its sources and yet they are not considered copyright violation? Please provide three examples.

Answer i: Websites copying from Wikipedia. This includes Wikipedia mirrors, but often even reputable sources copy information from Wikipedia. In this case, it is important to check the date of publication to verify if it's a copyright violation.

Y Wikipedia in can not be the source as Wikipedia content websites that mirroring Wikipedia content including - see [[[WP:CIRCULAR]] is edited by users unless otherwise as per- WP:CIRCULAR. Cassiopeia talk 03:59, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

Answer ii: The original content is released under public domain or a CC license compatible with Wikipedia.

 Y. Cassiopeia talk 03:59, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

Answer iii: The author of the content is the owner of the copyright. In this case, they can decide to release the material on Wikipedia under the CC license of Wikipedia. Pay attention to COI in these cases! Broc (talk) 15:05, 27 February 2024 (UTC)

Y, such as photos/images that taken from the owner or created by the owner and they uploaded them to Wikipedia Commons. Also, we can use "identical words/phrases" as the form of "quote" and supported by source. Cassiopeia talk 03:59, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

6. Why copyright violation needs to be stamped out from Wikipedia and who determined when a violation is unlawfully taking place?

Answer:The reason why it should be removed is that infringing copyright is illegal in most countries of the world where copyright laws exist, including the US where Wikipedia servers are hosted. Broc (talk) 15:05, 27 February 2024 (UTC)

 Y. Since it entails legal implications, Wikipedia takes violation of copyvio "very seriously". Cassiopeia talk 03:59, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

9. Pls read WP:R2 and WP:NPPDRAFT. Please explain when to a new page (NPP article) can be nominated for CSD R2 and what should be considered when doing such move?

Answer: New articles can be draftified when "not ready for mainspace", some examples: articles lacking sources, articles very poorly written, articles where the editor has a COI. This can be done automatically using the Draftify function of Twinkle, or manually by moving the page to Draftspace, and tagging the namespace redirect for R2 CSD. Draftification is a bold action and can be reversed by anyone. Once reverted, it cannot be repeated, and the page needs to be tagged for improvement or candidated for AfD. Broc (talk) 22:27, 2 March 2024 (UTC)  Y, We move articles to the draftspace to allow articles to be developed especially potential but unsourced WP:BLP article. Use R2 sparingly as some admins do not like pages to be move to draft page even WP:NPPDRAFT states the move is a safe place for editor to adding necessary sources, they would deems the if the articles are not improved or edit in 6 months, it will be G13. Copyright violation and paid editors edit

Pls read WP:COI and WP:PAID and answer the following question
11. How do we spot a COI/PAID editor?

Answer: COI/PAID editors are obliged to disclose their conflict of interest. In that case, we would find such a notice on their user page or talk page.

Apparent COI instead is defined based on the user's contributions, some examples:

  • The username has a name very similar or related to that of the page they created
  • The account is a single-purpose account and is creating articles that read like advertisement

Broc (talk) 16:15, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

 Y. See further info on Notes section.. Cassiopeia talk 04:40, 21 April 2024 (UTC)

12. What you should do when you review an NPP article and notice the creator is a COI editor?

Answer: WP:DRAFTIFY if the article could belong on Wikipedia and is not a blatant copyright violation (in this case, CSD). COI editors cannot create new pages themselves and need to go through the AfC process. Broc (talk) 16:15, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

Report to WP:COIN if needed. Add   Hello, Cassiopeia/NPPSchool. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. to their talk page and and tag COI on the page via twinkle. Editor can create/edit a COI page if they WP:Disclose it on the article talk page and their user page and edit the content with NPOV. COI editor can create a page in new page, however, many admins do ague they should go through AfC and later NPP (review 2 times by AfC and NPP) just like WP:PAID editors. Cassiopeia talk 04:40, 21 April 2024 (UTC)

13. Please read WP:PAID. What you should do when you review an NPP article and notice the creator is a paid editor?

Answer: WP:DRAFTIFY if the article could belong on Wikipedia and is not a blatant copyright violation (in this case, CSD). Paid editors cannot create new pages themselves and need to go through the AfC process. Broc (talk) 16:15, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

Y, Report to WP:COIN if needed. Add {{subst:Uw-coi}} to their talk page and and tag COI on the page via twinkle. Move (do a R2) the page to draft space regardless how many edits and how many pages the editors have created. Cassiopeia talk 04:40, 21 April 2024 (UTC)

Filtering - Deletion policy & other alternatives edit

In assignment 4, we look at articles which fits in WP:Criteria for speedy deletion (CSD) where by the the articles are deleted within a few hours to 24 hours from the time of the nomination. In Assignment 5, we discuss the what actions should be taken for those articles do not fit under the CSD criteria but do not meet relevant criteria for content of the encyclopedia.

Please read WP:PROD, WP:BLPPROD, WP:MERGE, WP:DRAFTIFY, WP:NPPDRAFT and WP:REDIR, WP:AFD and answer the following questions. (Provide links and hisdiff where they are applied.)

1. Under what circumstances do we propose deletion (PROD) a page and why do we do that?

Answer: PROD is a simplified deletion process, it should be applied to uncontroversial deletions (e.g.: we do not think someone will remove the tag). We use PROD as AfD is a process that takes a lot of time and energy from editors, and should not be overloaded with uncontroversial requests. If one expects a debate to arise as to whether the page should be kept, the right venue is AfD.

2. What should we do before we PROD a page? and what should be considered /action during a nomination?

Answer: Before PROD:

  • consider WP:ATD such as redirecting.
  • Check if the page was PRODded or AfDed before. If so, it cannot be PRODded again.
  • Inform the page creator or most active editors on the page about the nomination (Twinkle does it automatically).

During PROD: save page in watchlist to see if someone removes the PROD tag within 7 days. If removed, see rationale and decide whether to start a full AfD or not.

3. What is the criteria when nominated a BLPPROD? If we choose not to BLPPROD a page what are the alternatives? (give three examples with explanations)

Answer: A BLP page with no sources at all (it does not have to be an inline source, it can be an external link, a bibliography) can be nominated for BLPPROD. Alternatives to BLPPROD:

  • WP:CSD, in particular G10 or G11. Often newly created unsourced BLP pages are either spam or defamatory
  • If the page has some merit and could become an encyclopedic page: WP:DRAFTIFY
  • If a WP:BEFORE shows sources that would support notability, add the sources to the page or use {{tl|sources exist}, then tag the page appropriately.

4. In what circumstances we nominate an AFD and what step should be done prior such action.

Answer: The most common reason for an AfD nomination is for a page that does not fulfill the notability criteria, but that cannot be deleted with simplified processes (such as WP:PROD or WP:CSD), does not have a meaningful WP:ATD, or for which we expect a debate to arise.

Before nominating a page because of notability concerns, a WP:BEFORE search to look for sources is necessary. The nominator should be convinced that the notability criteria are not fulfilled.

Other things to look at: a history of recent vandalism (maybe the page was in a good state in an earlier version), discussions in Talk page, previous AfD nominations for the same page.

5 How long do PROD, BLPPROD and AFD last prior it is deleted or decline?

Answer: PROD and BLPPROD last for 7 days, after which they are deleted. The procedure stops as soon as any user removes the tag.

AfD lasts normally 7 days, at the end of which an editor (usually an administrator) evaluates the consensus and closes the discussion. In case of unclear consensus, additional 7 days can be added to the discussion.

6. When a page has been previously BLPROD and was provide a source; however if you still think that article should be deleted, what can you do?

Answer: The page can be candidated for AfD.

7. When do we decide whether an article should be PROD or WP:BLPROD or WP:AFD?

Answer:

8. What are the reason to WP:Merge a page to another page?

Answer:

9. List 10 reasons we purpose WP:REDIR.

Answer:

  1. Common typos, e.g.: Barak Obama instead of Barack Obama
  2. Capitalization, e.g.: barack obama
  3. More specific name, e.g.: Barack Hussein Obama II
  4. Less specific name, e.g.: Obama
  5. Punctuation, e.g.: Israel-Hamas war instead of Israel–Hamas war (hyphen instead of MOS:DASH)
  6. From other grammatical forms likely to be searched, e.g.: from plural to singular, dogs to dog
  7. Abbreviations
  8. From an album to its singer, tag with {{R from album}}
  9. From a book to its author, tag with {{R from book}}
  10. From scientific name to generic name, e.g.: canis lupus to wolf
  11. Many more ;)

10. When article can be moved to draft space?

Answer: First reason:

  1. If an article has an apparent or disclosed COI, it needs to be draftified and go through the AfC process.

Other reasons: If an article fulfills all the following:

  1. is recently created (less than 90 days old)
  2. has not been edited in the past 60 minutes
  3. does not fulfill the standards for pages in namespace (e.g.: unsourced, written like an advertisement, little evidence of notability)
  4. could be improved to become an encyclopedic article
