I've become a frequent editor here, mostly adding details to cities and schools from my home town area, the greater Miami Valley of Ohio, and my adopted home town, Phoenix, Arizona.
A technical writer by trade, and just a bit on the compulsive side, I can't help myself when I see pages that need editing. Mostly, I'm adding missing links and making sure that cross references link both directions around facts. I'm learning the guidelines as I go.
I love local history, and really enjoy finding out who did what where.
My current projects
edit- I've recently worked on adding college alumni categories for many universities, especially those in Ohio. Master alumni category Currently: University of Dayton Completed:

- I'm also working through the villages of Ohio, adding details to them that I can reference in Wikipedia itself. Villages in Ohio
- In my spare time, I'm working on the project "Libraries in Ohio" and I've added about 20 so far. Libraries in Ohio
- I've been working on the uncategorized articles backlog. Uncategories articles
- I'm working on the backlog of underpopulated categories. Underpopulated Categories
- I created a category for George Polk Award recipients and I'm slowly working through the list of award winners, updating their articles and populating the category. George Polk Award recipients
- Currently populating the following categories:
University townsMagazine by publication frequencyMayors by City - Completed major revisions to the following articles: Ohio Northern University, Wilberforce University, Daniel J. Myers, Great Dayton Flood
Default sort magic word
editWay cool way to make sure that categories get sorted right, and easier than typing the sort characteristics after each category.
The default sort key of a page for categories can be changed using the new DEFAULTSORT
magic word. For instance, on George Washington,
would cause a subsequent
to be equivalent to
, not
. This is especially useful when the article belongs in many categories.

<!--- Use the DEFAULTSORT magic word to sort this article in all categories --->
