Chad Michael Murray (born August 24th 1981) is an American actor, writer, spokesperson and a former fashion model. He is best known for his TV roles as Lucas Scott on The CW's teen drama One Tree Hill and ABC's medical drama Grey's Anatomy but has also found success in staring roles in feature films Freaky Friday (2003), A Cinderella Story (2004) and House Of Wax (2005).
Murray began his acting career in 2000 when he appeared in an episode of MTV show Undressed which got him noticed and got him an audition for The WB show Gilmore Girls. He appeared in the first two seasons of the show before leaving to join Dawson's Creek for its fifth season.
In 2003, Murray got his break out role in One Tree Hill, portraying Lucas Scott, for six seasons between 2003 and 2009. He also returned for the shows final episode in 2012. Between 2010 and 2015, he joined Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Scott Karev and also in 2015 was part of the cast of Agent Carter, a spin-off from Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

After leaving 'One Tree Hill, Murray took a year out to work on writing poetry and a television script. In March 2010, it was confirmed that he had signed a six episode deal to join ABC drama Grey's Anatomy's seventh season. His character Dr. Scott Karev was brought in by the hospital's board to help in the aftermath of the shooting but would discover his brother Dr. Alex Karev already worked for the hospital. It was later revealed that neither of the brothers knew of each others existence and departed in the sixth episode after developing a positive relationship. Due to positive response to his character and his portrayal, Murray rejoined the cast as a regular in its thirteenth episode of season 7. At the beginning of the eleventh season, rumour began to circulate that Murray had been fired from the show which were swiftly denied by series creator Shonda Rhimes. Despite this, in the mid-season finale, Murray's character was shot when leaving the hospital and in the first episode of 2015, Scott left the show to take up a six month contract in London, England.
In January 2015, Murray confirmed he had left the show due to Prison Break, a show co-written by himself and Paul Scheuring, getting picked up by Fox for thirteen episodes to air later in the year. The show began filming in February 2015 and is due to air at the end of August. Along with writing the show, Murray will star as the main protagonist at the insistence of Fox officials.
