Jhon Rachid
Jhon Rachid, real name Mohamed Ketfi is a Franco-Algerian video maker, actor and humourist. He was born on the 12th September 1984 in Lyon. He has gone into YouTube in 2010 and this platform let him to become the first humourist from Lyon to go over millions of subscribers.
Biography
Childhood and beginnings
Jhon Rachid was born on the 12th September 1984 in Lyon in an Algerian family. At seven years old he was placed in foster care. He gave school up at the second year of high school. Before to be Youtubeur, he worked at France Télécom (Orange) in shop.
On YouTube
Jhon Rachid launched into YouTube in 2010 with program parodies such as MacGyver, K2000 or Koh-Lanta. Then he started to talk about his passions especially rap in the show J’ai mal au rap which allow him to be famous. In this show of criticism, Jhon Rachid gives his point of view about some rappers who make “bad rap” according to him. Among these rappers there are Kaaris, Maitre Gims or Booba. This show has lasted ten episodes and thanks to it Jhon Rachid achieve in 2016 750 000 subscribers on YouTube. The 17th October 2017 released a short film entitled Jour de pluie it is about the Paris massacre of 1961. This short film was published shortly afterward John Rachid becomes the first humourist from Lyon to go over millions of subscribers. Jhon Rachid declared that he released this short film in order to interest people in the massacre on 17Th October 1961. He also produced a lot of videos about politics and the racism in France. He announced that he found a source of inspiration in the sketches of Les Inconnus. Moreover, he brought a comic “fake interview” out of Pablo Escobar which allow him to meet Wagner Moura the actor playing Escobar in the series Narcos. Jhon Rachid is friend with Mister V and Norman (incidentally Norman’s sister Daphnée Thavaud is his agent).
Commitments and ideals
Jhon Rachid fights against racism through interviews or his videos. In an interview granted to Paris Match, Jhon Rachid pronounced that “I am offered to be “terrorist” or “robber” while as an actor, I am able of much more”. In the same interview he announced that “When we approach these subjects, particularly islamophobia in France, we look like a paranoid”. Also, he declares to the newspaper Libération (a short time later the Attack against Charlie Hebdo) that he doesn’t laugh about religions’ cartoon, but Charlie Hebdo’s journalists are free to do what they want. As well he said “We don’t kill people!”. He accuses the website Airbnb of “discrimination” and “technical filtering”. Towards 2017, he joined the Love Army a humanitarian movement aims at helping Rohingya people, created by Jérôme Jarre, at the side of person like Omar Sy, Dj Snake or Mister V.

Jhon Rachid was Gryll's character's body double in Dragon Ball Super and the ranger Brax in the animated film Ratchet & Clank.
