A seat at the table edit

President Trump reorganized the National Security Council by elevating his chief strategist, Steve Bannon, and demoting the director of National Intelligence and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.[1]

Bannon in edit

"""A week (JAN28) into the new administration Steve Bannon was appointed to the National Security Council and given a full seat. The appointment downgraded the participation of the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Director of National Intelligence. To give a political adviser a seat on the committee was an exceedingly unusual move."""[2]

Bannon out edit

  • White House adviser and chief political strategist Steve Bannon is out as a member of the National Security Council. His appointment to the council had been "one of the most controversial decisions of the young Trump administration."""[3]
