I am learning on the job a bit here, so please forgive me if this is a bit clumsy. Will buy a book on how to be a decent contributor asap. I am writing in part to declare a conflict of interest for violin related information:

I have published a book on violin and bow makers. Title: The Brompton's Book of Violin and Bow Makers by John Dilworth (Usk Publishing, 2012).

The book it is replacing is over 60 years old and riddled with errors: Universal Dictionary of Violin and Bow makers by William Henley (Amati Publishing, Brighton).

A huge number of errors have creeped into the violin world from Henley and it was in part in order to counteract this that I commissioned the book's printing. I can't stress strongly enough how vital this book has been to the business in correcting so many historical errors.

I don't know if it helps to know about me, but I used to run the Christie's music department in London, before which I worked for Peter Biddulph. I am not the best in the trade by any means, but I am certainly not the worst.
