My present for Wikipedia edit
Anyone can create a page on Wiki, so what makes it so special? I, for one, have contributed to the Wikipedia world with my article Life in the Fat Lane (novel). In the future I plan on critiquing my article and maybe add some more that spark my interests. It's not too often you find red links, though.
Tech-nol-savvy edit
I'd like to think of myself as a technological savvy individual. I believe anything, and I mean ANYTHING, is available on the internet now-a-days and if I want to watch any movie, show, or look anything up for free, I can find it. Typing much faster than I could ever write on a sheet of paper, I know Microsoft Word 2007 like the back of my hand. Though I am not bragging, technology is available to everyone. It's the key to our future and present, so why not become involved?
Wikipedia Makes the World Go 'Round edit
Upon using Wikipedia for my own contributions, I honestly believed it was the worst thing you can use. I mean, a website that anyone can add info too? Yeah, that must suck. Well, months later, I completely disagree. High school teachers always told students, "NEVER use Wikipedia! Anyone can add information to it!" but I would like to prove to them that that is not true. Not just "anyone" can make an edit to a page. It has a be relevant, first of all, and you must be logged in. People just can't vandalize pages. My article has been uploaded for less than a month and I many people have made contributions to my page. How cool is that?! Though people are not getting paid, people on Wikipedia love what they do and they love making contributions to an encyclopedia. I think its the neatest concept and I would love to meet the founder. Wikipedia makes the world go round, online, and if you don't think that is neat then I don't know what is wrong with you.
On the other side, college professors also do not praise Wiki but that is completely understandable. College profs expect students to find reliable and scholarly resources to write a term paper, which I completely agree. Wikipedia is not made for that aspect.
I am starting to love Wiki, being open and democratic. So carry on Wiki and make the world go 'round!
Language is Singular edit
I am a native speaker and writer of the English language. I have involved myself with three years of French, but I would not particularly say I am fluent or could ever write an article in French. So, for now, I'm going to stick to English.
