Hello!

This is the homepage for the European Car of the Week initiative. Here, we select a vehicle that has been awarded the European Car of the Year status to work on its article for a week, with the goal of making it worthy of GA or even FA status if possible.

The initiative is in statu nascendi, so we still need to establish a few things:

  1. Do we just go year by year, starting with the 1964 Rover P6, or do we feel that we need to vote for the car for a given week?
  2. When does the week start? :D (I guess let's wait until the upcoming Monday, and if there are enough people interested, we might just start then)
  3. I think we might prolong the period by another week if we see one week won't suffice, but the whole idea is to make the efforts intensive and concentrated, hence the rather tight schedule.
  4. Do we create a nifty template to say "Some car is the European Car of the Week etc..."?

Here's what I think needs to be done with every article:

  • Find some good sources
  • Organize content
  • Remove POV
  • Fill in the gaps in the article, make sure all important issues are covered
  • Make sure everything is properly referenced
  • Get some good free photos
  • Brush up style and appearance of the article
  • Submit to WP:GAN or WP:FAC :D

Please discuss on the talk page! Once we get a conclusion, I will modify the main page. Thanks! Bravada, talk - 13:21, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
