Smo born Bongumenzi Mtshali is a South African pedagogical practitioner, writer, poet, content creator and philanthropist. He is well know in the langauge discipline as a promising scholar and research fellow. He linguist journey started when he met Mr SH Ximba who was his high school who inspired him to pursue a career in language. In 2020 he register for an undergraduate degree in the University on Johannesburg where he obtained a bachelors degree in Education majoring in isiZulu and History. During his undergraduate degree he started a new channel (Bongumenzi Mtshali) which is one of top isiZulu lesson channel. He has been part of the University of Johannesburg teaching staff as a tutor where he tutors PGCE students and Final year students majoring in IsiZulu under the Dr IK Mndawe. In his career he continues to be inspired by musician like Mgqumeni Khumalo and academias the likes of Dr EDM Sibiya, Dr GB Thwala, Dr MO Mbathu and N Poswa. Bongumenzi Mtshali’s approach to education in deeply in rooted in decolonisation with large influence of scholars like Mamdani, Ndlovu-Gatsheni, Lushaba, and Fanon
