I'm a teacher and writer living in New York City. I taught for 10 years at The Children's Storefront School[1], an independent school in Harlem. I have also edited several anthologies of poems and from 1993-97 was editor of American Poet magazine for The Academy of American Poets[2], where I worked on staff and now serve on the board.
I became interested in Wikipedia because of my work as an educator, and am now trying to learn how to become a better contributor to the community. Other interests include poetry, Japanese literature, the environment and social justice movements.
