Productivity Quality Systems, Inc. (PQ Systems, Inc) is an American multinational corporation that provides quality improvement software and training. It was founded in Dayton, OH in 1984 by Michael J. Cleary, Ph.D., a professor of management science (emeritus) at Wright State University[1]. A UK office was formed in 1987 and Dr. Jackie Graham opened an Australia office in 1989.[2]

PQ Systems developers several quality assurance software packages such as CHARTrunner, SQCpack EZ, and GAGEpack.

PQ Systems is a privately-held software company primarily serving the Manufacturing and healthcare markets. They develop software that monitor processes and meet the requirements of national standards such as National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and ISO 9000, as well as quality methodologies such as Six Sigma and the Baldrige National Quality Program.[3][4]

Founding edit

PQ Systems, Inc was founded by Michael Cleary, Ph.D. and incorporated in 1984. The first software package, SQCpack, was developed by his son, Sean Cleary.[2]

Michael was a professor at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, where he taught management science courses.[5] He currently servse on the WSU Advisory Board.[6]

Michael made several contributions to the quality management field early in his career. Some of the contributions included several projects and programs ranging from the Transformation of American Industry national training project and the Total Quality Transformation training system to presenting papers to audiences in Korea, China, France, Great Britain, Australia, Singapore, and Japan on statistical process control and the applications of quality management principles. Soon after his teaching career he wrote the “Data Analysis Handbook Using SPSS”,[1] and currently serves as the President of PQ Systems, Inc.[7]

CHARTrunner edit

CHARTrunner is an SPC charting application that links to data from outside sources such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Oracle Databases, etc and charts them.[8]The application creates control, Pareto, histogram, pie, individuals, and run charts.[9]

GAGEpack edit

GAGEpack is a database application for the organization of gages such as micrometers, plugs, scales, etc.[10] The application is designed to store data for gages such as history, calibration steps, procedures, name, location, vendors, next calibration date, etc. and alert the user when a gage is due for calibration or is in need of servicing. The application conforms to ISO Standards while QS-9000 stanrds are met they are used in R&R studies as required by AIAG methods.[11]

SQCpack edit

SQCpack is an Microsoft Access-based SPC charting application that creates control charts, Pareto charts, histograms, and capability anylsis. [12]
