MyLife claims to be the most effective and efficient way for people to find and keep track of everyone in their life. The company offers the industry’s most powerful online and offline people search capabilities with a database of over 750 million profiles, and unique services to help people find anyone, anywhere across the Web. [3]

The site received 15.4 million U.S. unique visitors and 18.2 million worldwide last month, according to comScore and now boasts more than 58 million registered users. [4]

Memberships

edit

Much like Reunion.com, MyLife has two membership options, free and paid.[5]

Free Members can do the following:

  • Create a profile
  • Import address books to see who is a MyLife member and which social networks they belong to
  • View profiles for free if can confirm email address/in Address Book; including leaving comments
  • Respond to internal emails sent to me
  • Search for people & view results
  • View class list
  • Claim a profile
  • Browse members, photos, blogs
  • Get teaser counts, not details, for Who’s Searching For You, Who’s Viewed Your Profile, new search scout matches
  • View limited profiles of people “we have found for you”
  • Reverse Address Book – count of others who have added YOU to their Contacts is viewable; teaser only for "who’s added your name to their contacts"

Paid membership grants full access to the site and the following functionality:

  • See Who’s Viewed Your Profile
  • View new search results via Search Scout
  • View full profiles, including web results
  • Find out if my contacts have profiles on other networks and see which ones
  • Can leave comments on other profiles
  • Can purchase Cadillac contact info (one per month included with subscription and then available for purchase after one per month)
  • Reunion planning contact (Post reunion information for other class members, send out invitations and updates to the entire class, and find a professional planner to help with the reunion)
  • View full profiles & add to contacts - people “we have found for you”
  • PageOnce – access to full suite
  • Reverse Address Book – both counts (who’s added YOU, who’s added YOUR NAME)

Ownership

edit

MyLife, Inc. is privately owned. The original investors, making a total investment of $1.4 Million in angel financing, included Internet veterans Jeffrey Tinsley, former founder and CEO of GreatDomains.com and current CEO of Reunion.com; Richard Rosenblatt, co-founder, chairman and CEO of Demand Media and the former Chairman of MySpace; and Andy Mazzarella, CEO of eForce Media and former CFO of iMall.[6]

Financing

edit

On April 16, 2007, the company announced that it received $25 Million in venture funding from Oak Investment Partners. The funding is the largest Series A venture financing for a social networking company to date. The percent ownership stake that Oak received for their investment has not been reported. [7]
