Al Faroque Siddiquee

Brigadier General Al Faroque Siddiquee, BSP, ndu, afwc, psc, MPhil was commissioned with the 27th BMA Long Course on 20th December 1992 in the Corps of Infantry at “Victory Tigers”. He is currently the Principal of Adamjee Cantonment College. Before his appointment as the Principal of ACC, he was the Director of the Personnel Administration at the Army Headquarters. Prior to the appointment he served as the Commander of the 360th Infantry Brigade of the 17th Infantry Division of the Sylhet Area. He served as the Contingent Commander of BANBAT-3, at the Central African Republic and commanded the Bangladesh Battallion. He received the Distinguished Service Medal due to his outstanding service at the UN Peacekeeping Mission.

Career

During his long career, Brigadier General Al Faroque Siddiquee held many important command & instructional appointments in the Bangladesh Army, including Regimental Staff, Company Commander, Grade Three Operations Officer at 11th Infantry Division and Brigade Major in the 16th Infantry Brigade. He served in the 5th (parent unit), 6th, 13th, 16th, 26th, 30th, 34th and the 52nd East Bengal Regiment (now 17 BIR), 28th BIR. He also served as a Company Commander and Liaison Officer in the President Guard Regiment. He commanded the 13th East Bengal, 28th Bangladesh Infantry Battalion and 30th East Bengal. He served as an instructor at the School of Infantry and Tactics. He also served as General Staff Officer 1 (Operations Art and Tactics) at Army Training Doctrine and Command. He served as the Colonel Staff of the Military Training Directorate (MT Dte) at Army Headquarters and School of Infantry and Tactics (SI&T). He was the Commander of the 360th Infantry Brigade. He also served as the Director of Personnel Administrative Directorate (DPA), Army Headquarters. He participated in three UN Missions in Sierra Leone, Sudan (as Staff Officer) and the Central African Republic (as Contingent Commander C/O: 30th East Bengal). He also served in the Chattogram Hill Tracts in two terms at Kaptai and Panchari respectively. Al Faroque Siddiquee is also regarded as a good player in Volleyball and Basketball, participating in formation and army-level tournaments.

Achievements

Al Faroque Siddiquee received a letter of commendation from the UN during his service at the Central African Republic (MINUSCA). At formation levels, he also emerged as the Best Firer in the CAS Trophy Competition and the Inter Formation Firing Competition, 1st in the Army Essay Competition, Best in the Officers' Quiz Competition (2004) and Best Parade Commander (2000). In 2023 and 2024, he became the best Principal in Dhaka twice as the Principal of Adamjee Cantonment College. During his tenure, Adamjee Cantonment College achieved the distinction of becoming the best college in Bangladesh.[1]

Academic Qualifications

He is a graduate of Defence Services Command and Staff College. Besides, he attended the Armed Forces War Course at the National Defence College at Mirpur. He is also a science graduate from Chattogram University. He obtained an MDS (Master of Defence Studies) from the National University. He has twice completed his MPhil degree from Bangladesh University of Professionals and Begum Rokeya University. In China, he successfully graduated from the National Defence University (NDU) of PLA and completed his Master's in National Defence. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD.
