"Youth of My Beloved Land" by Jose  P.  Laurel edit

Personal views on several aspects of the speech.

Personal views about the speech's introduction edit

The first lines of Laurel's speech evoked the Filipino youth because it mentioned that the country needs them, which appealed to their patriotic feelings. Laurel provokes the youth to consider their responsibilities to the country as early as the first few sentences. Laurel then utilized reflection by citing Jose Rizal's faith in the Filipino youth.

Personal views about the speech's conclusion edit

What I like about the conclusion is that he addressed that "the youth is the future of the country." However, I dislike that he highlighted that "The Republic is not of this generation to keep, but it is particularly for the young generation and future generations to preserve and to enjoy," because I believe that the present generation, or all of the people of the nation, has the responsibility to preserve the republic, and it is not solely the responsibility of the youth.
