Pfäizan is a card game for 2 to 3 players, where the aim is to take the most tricks.
Cards edit
For Pfäizan a pack of Schafkopf cards is needed. Cards rank in their natural order as follows: Sow, King, Ober, Unter, 10, 9, 8, 7.
Play edit
At the start everyone is dealt 10 cards. Forehand (the player who is dealt cards first) leads to the first trick. The led card can be beaten with a higher card of the same suit or a card of the next 'higher' suit of equal or higher rank. Suits rank as follow: Grass beats Hearts, Hearts beat Acorns, Acorns beat Bells, Bells beat Grass. Only the immediately beating card beats. Otherwise the lowest card takes the trick.
