The following is a glossary of terms used in patiences or solitaire card games as opposed to multi-player card games. Where terms in this glossary are game-specific, i.e. relate to a specific patience or solitare game, this should be stated. For card game terms in general, see the Glossary of card game terms.

A edit

available card
A card in a tableau which is in a position from where it can legally be played to a foundation or elsewhere, or where another card can be packed on it.[1]

bed
In Flower Garden one of the six rows of six cards that form part of the tableau.[1]
blocked card
A card in the tableau situated so that it cannot be moved to a foundation until another card blocking it is moved first, while at the same time the card blocking it cannot itself be moved to a

foundation until the original blocked card is moved; the situation must be resolved by play within the tableau.[1]

blocked column or row
A column or row containing a blocked card.[1]
bouquet
In Flower Garden, a crescent of 16 cards that form part of the tableau.[1]
build
To transfer cards to foundations.[1]

The King, Queen or Jack of each suit.[1]
