Comprehensive Guide to Quoting

edit
  1. KISS, keep it short and simple. Appropriatley abbreviating your quotations helps to work out the proper meaning. E.g.

By design, it is difficult to insert a USB plug into its receptacle ...

USB - Connectors and plugs - Usability and orientation
  2. Be serious. When quoting, always remember the importance of being ernest and remove all context which might reveal an ironic or satirical nature, especially when it's about feminism, sexism, genderism or the like. These ideologies are no fun. Every man joking about them is a chauvinist/sexist/homophobic monster and the world needs to know.

(To be continued ...) This is a work in progress.
