Please stop adding "Dead Cell" to the track listing. It was not on the album, and it not even a Metallica song. None of the sources you added were reliable or confirmed it's presence on the album. Rehevkor 19:32, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

Mapmaking

edit

Hi, and thanks for the appreciation! The programs I have used for my maps are quite simply the basic MS Paint program (included on Windows computers), although sometimes with the help of the more advanced Adobe Photoshop. In some cases I have also used Inkscape, which might actually be the best choice if you can work it out. I have drawn borders on blank maps which can already be found on Wikimedia Commons (such as here: [1]). -TheG (talk) 15:09, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

Politika

edit

Merhaba Berkay,

Sevgiler

Vito Genovese 19:52, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

--Merube 89msj 22:04, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

Turkish summer?

edit

Hello. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impact_of_the_Arab_Spring Should we provide a short summary of Gezi Park protests (protests in Turkey in 2013) to the Impact of the Arab Spring article. I think we should since Turkish protests which are also called Turkish summer, despite having different aims, seems to be compared to the Arab Spring. Besides, protests in the scope of Impact of the Arab Spring article have different aims (Occupy Wall Street is also not about toppling an Arab dictator.)Kavas (talk) 11:30, 14 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. Syrian Turkmen

edit

You have inserted a flag that is recently coined and which belongs to a political organization. This article is about an ethnic group. This was explained in the edit summary that removed the flag. You inserted the flag without any supporting justification. Please do not edit war - if you have a legitimate argument for why this political flag should be in the article's infobox then you need to present it on the talk page. "Fixing" quotations

edit

Do not paraphrase within quotations as you have done in 2015 Russian Sukhoi Su-24 shootdown. The source never uses the phrase "if Syrian Turkmen"; that needs to be paraphrased and put outside the quote. Qzd (talk) 22:57, 28 November 2015 (UTC)

General sanctions notification

edit

Please read this notification carefully, it contains important information about an administrative situation on Wikipedia. It does not imply any misconduct regarding your own contributions to date.

A community decision has authorised the use of general sanctions for pages related to the Syrian Civil War and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. The details of these sanctions are described here. All pages that are broadly related to these topics are subject to a one revert per twenty-four hours restriction, as described here.

General sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimise disruption in controversial topic areas. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to these topics that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behaviour, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. An editor can only be sanctioned after he or she has been made aware that general sanctions are in effect. This notification is meant to inform you that sanctions are authorised in these topic areas, which you have been editing. It is only effective if it is logged here. Before continuing to edit pages in these topic areas, please familiarise yourself with the general sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.   Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Ottoman Empire, did not appear constructive and has been undone. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. The source for the inclusion of "Malta" (dating from 1838!) and the one for "Uganda" are both completely non-WP:RS. Hence both countries as well as the "sources" have been removed. The Islam by country in Europe template and map are based on the Pew report from 2011 used here [2]. As you can see. Cyprus is not in the 30%+ category. You are making numbers up to your liking and then tampering with the map, then telling me to "look at the map" (which you just tampered with). Did you really think that was going to work? Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. This message is to notify you that sanctions are authorised for the topic you are editing. Before continuing to edit this topic, please familiarise yourself with the discretionary sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.

Making numbers up and then edit-warring over them is a serious no-no. Don't so it again. Athenean (talk) 07:33, 10 October 2016 (UTC)

Your recent editing history at Template:Islam in Europe by country shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Turkish polling

edit

Hey! Thanks a lot for adding more polls and information to the Opinion polling for the Turkish general election, 2018 article. The only problem is the layout of some of the new content. For instance, remember to use decimals separated by dots when adding voting intention data, and make sure that when multiple successive rows all contain "N/A", then only write "N/A" once, and have that cover multiple rows, as you can see has been done in the case of MHP. Your edits have otherwise been very constructive and helpful, and I'd hate to have to revert them and later re-do it all, just because it does not completely follow proper style. Cheers! — Μαρκος Δ 01:28, 2 May 2018 (UTC)

On further inspection, it seems like some of the data you have placed in the article does not match the data in your own source. Aksener is, for example, on 50.1% in the source, while you showed her on 50.5%. There is also, as far as I can tell, no seat projection in the source, while you have placed one in the article (though there is one in a different tweet). I might be in the wrong here, but if not, you'll have to explain this or have your edits reverted. — Μαρκος Δ 01:54, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
Hey again. I have some understanding of Turkish, so I think I got the jist of it. My main issue was with some of your own calculations; the source gave Erdogan 41.3. against Aksener's 41.5%. If one removes the undecideds, then the score is 49.9-50.1 in her favor, not 49.5-50.5 like you had written in the article. There were also miscalculations on Kilicdaroglu and on HDP's seat count. This gave the impression that the data in the article just didn't match that in the source, but I assume it was an honest mistake, and have corrected it. Again, thanks for your edits! — Μαρκος Δ 11:10, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
Oh, I see that now. That raises the question of which one is correct, the actual data or their description. I don't think any one of us can really be able to make a decision on that matter. All we can do is be to cautious if/when we include PİAR polls in the future. There is an ongoing discussion on Reddit about whether it is even a legitimate agency; you should check it out and see what you think. — Μαρκος Δ 14:34, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
Good point, if we were to filter out all the unreliable ones, there would probably barely be any left. There's even an article about it here on WP. Anyway, thanks for the clarification. — Μαρκος Δ 15:38, 2 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Opinion polling for the Turkish general election, 2018, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Republican People's Party (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
