Jay Batson is a technology entrepreneur and executive.
He founded:
- Acquia, a company providing commercial subscription support for the Drupal platform;
- Plum Canary, a Collaborative software tool to help teams manage the execution of teamwork-related activities.
- Pingtel, a Voice over IP PBX and IP phone company, employing the Session Initiation Protocol for signaling, and which contributed the initial (and substantial ongoing) open source code contribution(s) for SipX;
- Energy Logic Systems, an firm providing an online database of oil and gas mineral leasehold ownerhip information (sold to Petroleum Information which was, at the time of the acquisition, a subsidiary of Dun & Bradstreet).
He has previously served as Managing Director (European-title-equivalent of CEO in the US) for the SIP Forum and the Chairman of its Board of Directors.
