Global youth unemployment

edit

The good news for young individuals seeking their first job is that the global labor market for those between the ages of 15 and 24 has improved recently and is expected to continue growing.

The International Labour Organization's (ILO) most recent Global Employment Trends for Youth report comes to that conclusion.

Although there are reasons for optimism, the current young unemployment rate is 13%, which translates to about 65 million unemployed individuals. Furthermore, not everyone has experienced the post-pandemic job rebound, according to the ILO. "Many young women and young people in some regions are not benefiting from the economic recovery."

High income rate countries face less youth unemployment compared to low income rate countries.
