Weekly contest is to encourage good work on Wikipedia! The competitions could be about expanding the articles, adding images, or categorizing articles, for example. Anyone can create a competition gene to add to his race in the list!

To create a contest

1. Upload your contest as a sub page to this page, for example Wikipedia:Weekly contest/Example contest. Add a link under Upcoming contests. First come, first served applies.
2. Enter the following information: goal, date, contest leaders , notification, prize and winner.
3. Add the template {{Upcoming contests}} at the top of the competition page.
4. When the race starts, remove the template and add your contest in the "Week competition". Also update the template {{Current weekly competition}}.
5. During the contest it is fun to have an active leader who comments and encourages the contestants.
6. When the contest is over, separate prizes for those who earned it and add to the competition in the "old competitions".

Prizes

Several different prizes exists for different types of contests.

• The purple rosette for creating new articles.
• The blue rosette for fixing stubs or making articles longer.
• The red rosette for administrative tasks such as catogorizing pages or similar.
• The orange rosette for illustrating articles.
• The green rosette for other kinds of contests.
• The yellow rosette for contests that includes translating between different languages.

Also for good effort can these two rosettes be given. For example 100 point for the grey and 20 points for the brown. The Grey should be more valuable than the brown.
