Allison Odgen-Newton (born 27th June 1963) is an experienced charity professional and social entrepreneur. She has worked as Chief Executive at World Child Cancer and Social Enterprise London[1]. She was the founder of the social value think-tank The Transition Institute[2] and appears regularly in national and local media, on TV and radio and at conferences and events, to discuss a breadth of issues, from fly-tipping to green spaces[3].

Before joining Keep Britain Tidy in 2015, Ogden-Newton was the deputy chief executive of Sustainable Homes, a social enterprise that helps organisations and individuals reduce their carbon footprint and achieve sustainability goals. Ogden-Newton will receive £85,000 annually[4], according to a charity spokesman. She also served as the London Borough of Camden's Director of Communities and Sustainability, where she was responsible for developing and implementing sustainability-related policies and activities.

Allison is a graduate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and holds a master's degree from Warwick Business School. She has served as a member of the government's Department of Innovation and Skills' Women's Enterprise Taskforce and as an equal-value advisor to the Equal Opportunities Commission.[2]

Over the course of her career, Ogden-Newton has been involved in a number of high-profile sustainability projects, including the founding of the Camden Climate Change Alliance, a partnership between the local government, businesses, and the community to reduce carbon emissions and prepare for the effects of climate change, the development of the UK's first carbon-neutral housing development, the creation of a sustainable procurement strategy for the London 2012 Olympic Games, and the Great British Spring Clean which is a nationwide event in its 8th year and is still going strong. It occurs every year from the 17th of March to the 2nd of April and consists of litter pickers across the UK collecting waste. [5]

In addition to her work in sustainability, Ogden-Newton has expertise in the public and private sectors, including time spent working for the National Health Service and the telecom sector.

Ogden-Newton is a frequent speaker and commentator on sustainability and environmental concerns and the author of numerous papers and essays on the subject. She holds a master's in environmental technology from Imperial College London and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
