Internet tough guy syndrome is the phenomenon in which a person, usually male, acts more aggressive in online communication than in real life situations.
The ability to remain anonymous, therefore reducing the chance of facing punishment for antisocial behavior, may embolden users to act more aggressively than they ordinarily would in real life.
