Dogs

edit

Dogs are used for research because they can be domesticated, and because they have been used in studies concerning diabetes in the past.[1] For example, dogs were used as subjects in a study of the effects of diet-induced obesity on insulin dispersion.[2] In this experiment, it was found that a high-fat diet caused insulin resistance, contributing to cardiovascular disease, cancer, and type 2 diabetes.
