The Honourable Mark Furner, representing the Australian Labor Party in the seat of Ferny Grove from 31 January 2015, was appointed Minister for Local Government and Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships from 10 February 2017 under the first Palaszczuk Ministry. He was also appointed on 10 February 2017 to be a member of the Executive Council of Queensland.[1]

Abolition

Following the general election of 25 November 2017 in which the government was returned, the first Palaszczuk Ministry ended on 12 December 2017 when the second Palaszczuk Ministry was sworn in.[1]
