On March 6th 2009, Frey was made a member of the inaugural class in Alaska Women’s Hall of Fame. As well as feminist leader Frey was also honored for being a social studies educator.
Frey is most known for her feminist work, and as a gay activist but she is also a businesswoman, and teacher. She developed the curriculum for the students of Clark Junior High school.
Frey is originally from Missouri, which is where she was raised and went to school before moving to Alaska. She went to school and studied education, for which she received a bachelor’s degree. She then goes on to grade school where she received a master’s degree in History and English and last but not least she went on to get her PHD in Women’s History.
She moved to Alaska in the late 1950s and lived there until 1993. Where she was a teacher for 18 years.
