World School Council
World School Council is a global association with a mission to advance international standards in education throughout the world. Accreditation is at the heart of this Council. To become WSC-accredited, an institution must go through a rigorous assessment. This ensures that only highest calibre programmes which demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction achieve WSC accreditation. The Council develops programs at the academic, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral level and accredits Academic Schools, Business Schools, Technology School and Medical School programmes in over 72 countries. This global body focuses in detail on individual programmes rather than whole institutions.
WSC Accreditation Standards
The WSC Accreditation Standards were first adopted in 2009. Accreditation standards and policies are revised frequently to ensure highest standards and continuous improvement in global education at all levels. The revision occurs by collaborating with the global education community and employer organizations. Accredited programmes are also reviewed at least every five years.
WSC Accreditation Process
The WSC Accreditation process is a rigorous one and helps the organisations to identify the areas where they need to improvise in future. Peer teams visit the institutions regularly and offer comprehensive and consultative reports. The institutions that are already accredited serve as Mentor institutes and offer guidelines and support so that the Mentee organisations can conform to global standards.
