Pioneers such as Daphne Oram began incorporating electronic manipulation of sounds into their compositions as early 1949.[1][2] In 1957 Oram would co-found the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, which provided electronic soundtracks and effects for BBC television programs.[1] In the 60s the workshop was joined by musicians such as Delia Derbyshire and John Baker.
