China (Chinese: 中國), officially Republic of China (Chinese: 中華民國) is a country located in East Asia. It is a democratic republic comprising of thirty-six provinces, two areas (Tibet and Mongolia and two special administrative regions (Hong Kong and Macao). It is the most populated state in the world with over 1.3 billion people. It is the second largest country in the world and the first largest in Asia.
