Assignment One

Climate Change Even with 99 citations, I thought the article could have used more references/citations. (i.e. "This energy is distributed around the globe by winds, ocean currents, and other mechanisms to affect the climates of different regions." No citation.) If it did seem to have an appropriate references where need, more than one reference for that statement would make for a stronger argument/statement. The citations I clicked on all worked. After reading so many scientific papers that cite every fact, I was surprised there wasn't more citation. I do like that you can get a good general idea of climate change, but then easily get to other articles for more information. Arctic sea ice loss was extremely brief, but links to two other articles that are fairly extensive.

Effects of climate change on plant diversity This article could use some help. The concepts were important and relevant, but not explained well and lack a lot of reasoning and explanations for the statements. The sources were mostly current, but some updating would be useful. Some sources were from the 90's and few were from the last 10 years. I thought the Climate Change article needed more sources, this article needs them more. I was not surprised at all to find that this article has a C-class rating. The conversations in the Talk tab were mostly pretty old, and just generally not very active.

Regional effects of global warming Right away, I felt the article was misleading in that with Africa it mentioned the effects only on humans, but I wasn't given that impression from the introduction. I think the introduction could have used more information on what the article is going to be covering. [Man, I am picky now.] Also, when they source papers that the Sahara may become greener from climate change, those sources are quick to point out that these models don't account for a lot of other factors and those predictions are uncertain. It's just generally too simplified. Again, I felt it needed more current sources. Especially when climate change is happening at rates and causing changes that weren't predicted 20 years ago.
