Lynx Fur is a type of fur in which is a highly valued wearable fur used as a fashion piece. It Is the abdominal[1] part of the Lynx[2] animal and is the most expensive fur to purchase. On the other hand, According to National Geographic[3], "Lynx are covered with beautiful thick fur that keeps them warm during frigid winters. Their large paws are also furry and hit the ground with a spreading toe motion that makes them function as natural snowshoes." Because of these ways that Lynx cats have such quality of fur and survival for winter, is why humans see it as another way of comfortability and survival through winter season.

Fur clothing[4] is made of animals and usually made for fashion or warmth. It has always been a debate if Fur should be used or not as it does involve either killing or capturing an animal for its fur. To some it is consider a luxury to wear it, to others it is considered animal cruelty.

Lynx Fur is very expensive due to low supply and high demand. Only high trained professionals who cut skins are able to succeed in Lynx fur and their is not many. It is sought after by wealthy people since it can go up to 50,000 US dollars[5] for one coat of Lynx fur.


Lynx Locations edit

Lynx[6] are typically found in North America, Europe, and Asia. They are carnivorous[7] mammals who can weigh from 22 to 44 pounds. Based on that weight alone, these animals are not as big to provide much resources such as meat or fur. Lynx is primarily white although it may have spots of brown, with the white being higher in demand. Lynx usage is declining, making it one of the more expensive furs.

Another part of the world where you can find lynx are in Canada[8]. They are only found in the Northern states, and often look similar to bobcats, as they are sometimes mistaken for this other breed.

Since Lynx are more in demand due to them being used less, they have been hunted to the point where they have become endangered. According to Conservation Northwest[9] "Lynx are among the most endangered felines[10] in North America[11], with only a few hundred animals suspected to remain in the lower 48 states."

Humans hunt[12] lynx mostly for their fur. The Bella Coola (Nuxalk[13]) tribe has been known to use the lynx as a food source, as well as other cultures and tribes. They also use their fat to create grease. Besides food, the lynx was also used to create pelts for the people to use as clothing and other uses.

It made a good source for clothing because their fur was light to wear and kept the wearer warm.

It is lightweight[14] and have a silky[15] texture.
The underfur[16] is really dense.
The coat of Lynx are not easily torn because of the Lynx's skin.
