- Standardize and unify all Big Brother articles under a general Manual of Style.
The scope of the WikiProject includes:
- Television series in the Big Brother format, licensed by Endemol
- Television series and films licensed by Endemol that have significant relation to Big Brother
- Idol contestants, finalists, winners, judges, and hosts
- Individuals featured in the program(me)
- Production companies directly related to the program(me)
Due to the broad nature of Big Brother some articles may also fall under the scope of other WikiProjects.

All talk pages of all articles that are in some way related to Big Brother should have the template {{Big Brother project}} inserted at the top. This will create a box at the top of the article, in line with the page name; that basically says that the page is part of this WikiProject and helps with article assessment.
Due to the broad, extensive nature of Big Brother some editors have created task forces to focus on a specific variation of the Big Brother franchise. These task forces work together to ensure that articles supported by their task force adhere to the policies set out by the project as much as possible while adapting local rules and variations of the format into the articles they support.
Current task forces:
- Big Brother UK task force - Supports all articles relating to Big Brother UK, also assists the USA task force with Big Brother 1 (U.S.).
- Big Brother USA task force - Supports all articles relating to Big Brother USA, assists the UK task force with Big Brother 1 (U.S.).

Technically speaking, anyone who edits / contributes to Big Brother related articles is a participant, and there are no requirements other than that. If one wishes they can further identify themselves with the project by listing their name as a participant. This helps spread the word about the project and can help other editors see what types of articles that user is interested in editing.
