Introduction of artificial heart.

Addition of patient process and how its viewed in different places.

My edit about adding process and how this process is viewed: According to 2023 article from University of Utah state "Team members noted that if it was you or a member of your family facing imminent death, you'd want the medical team to do everything they could. The advances made would lead to lower costs in the long term, as well as other advances in medicine." Thus, it is seen as a life savor action in the eyes of many.

"A synthetic replacement for a heart remains a long-sought "holy grail" of modern medicine. The obvious benefit of a functional artificial heart would be to lower the need for heart transplants because the demand for organs always greatly exceeds supply.

Although the heart is conceptually a pump, it embodies subtleties that defy straightforward emulation with synthetic materials and power supplies. Consequences of these issues include severe foreign-body rejectionand external batteries that limit mobility. These complications limited the lifespan of early human recipients from hours to days."

My edit: In this part I would add recent citations citation due to the fact how it was mentioned on the article that needs more citations.


My example:

The artificial heart has developed many innovation through the years and each new upgrade helps and benefits the patient body response. According to a 2023 article from [1] Britannica " In 2008 a fully functional artificial heart was developed by Carmat, a French company founded by cardiologist Alain Carpentier. The device was covered with a specially designed biosynthetic material to prevent the development of blood clots and to reduce the likelihood of immune rejection—problems associated with the AbioCor and Jarvik-7 artificial hearts."

As shown, this is one of the prototype software the artificial heart in which the holes of the valves are noticed as well all the compartments that would fit directly where the human heart would be. Such as the atrium, ventricles, articles, and veins.

Now, many companies have been trying to make the artificial heart more compact and effect to use as well cause less complications.

According to MIT article a scientist and his team is trying to make this innovation with no valves.[2]This is idea adds to how this innovation keeps imporving and perhaps in the future the artificial heart will fucntion and have ability to mirror an actual heart without any issues that have to be covered outside the body or to do frequent checks on the heart about complications that could be avoided with this new modern idea.
