Paul Chapman

edit

One of the shining lights in 2006, Chapman often stood up when the side was struggling and played with the spirit and aggression that has made him a crowd favourite. Led the Cats in kicks (331), tackles (89) and inside 50s (89) and capped a fine year by winning the club’s best and fairest and finishing eighth in the Brownlow Medal. At 25, he is starting to hit the peak of his career.

David Johnson

edit

Johnson was arrested over a scuffle involving police in the early hours of 28th September - on the eve of Geelong's 2007 Grand Final appearance, which Johnson was not going to be playing in.[1]

Police alleged that Johnson had assaulted two men and a woman on Moorabool St in Geelong, and ran off when confronted by Police. The incident occurred at 4:15am, and police had to chase Johnson 200m down the street and subdue him with capsicum spray, before they could arrest him.

Johnson had already come to the attention of police earlier that night following his eviction from a Geelong nightclub. He had to be driven home by Police, before they found him again on Moorabool St. Johnson was taken back to a Geelong Police station, and was interviewed overnight. It is expected that he will be facing charges related to assaulting three people, as well as assaulting police and resisting arrest.

Matthew Scarlett

edit

GEELONG premiership player Matthew Scarlett sealed off an amazing year on Saturday, marrying his sweetheart on Hamilton Island.

The All-Australian wed his long-term partner Milla Warren in front of about 80 family and friends at the All Saints chapel perched on a clifftop and offering views of the dazzling Whitsundays.

Bride-to-be Milla looked like a princess as she walked down the isle in a strapless white gown with beaded bodice and organza skirt, while Scarlett looked relaxed in a white cotton shirt and cream slacks.

Scarlett's groomsmen and fellow premiership players Steven King, Darren Milburn and Corey Enright wore matching attire while the bridesmaids shone in summery knee-length canary yellow-tiered dresses.

For the Jan Juc couple 2007 has been a great year with a premiership win and the birth of their daughter Charlie in May, who is a sister to Scarlett's eight-year-old daughter Tayla.
