I am an Assistant Professor of Art History. I hold a Ph.D. in art history, as well as graduate certificates in Latin American/Latino Studies and Women’s and Gender Studies, and an M.A. in art history. Her research interests broadly focus on gender and art, representations of women, and social justice and protest in Latin America. Specifically, I write about contemporary feminist art in Mexico and how it challenges the long tradition of Mexican nationalism built on traditional gender, as well as racial, ethnic, and class, roles.

My research has been published in Nierika: Journal of Art Studies, the Journal of Curatorial Studies, n.paradoxa: international feminist art journal, Artelogie, and The SECAC Review.

I participate in Wiki editing through the Art+Feminism edit-a-thon events and lead editing workshops to empower women, people of color, and other marginalized individuals to help make Wiki a more equitable and balanced resource.
